Colombia Excelso
A Classic Colombian Cup
Tasting Notes: Milk chocolate, caramel, roasted hazelnut, ripe fruit.
Colombia Excelso offers a clean, sweet, and beautifully balanced cup. Gentle citrus acidity brings brightness, while natural sweetness and a medium body make it equally enjoyable as espresso or filter coffee.
Origin
Colombia is one of the world's most renowned origins for Arabica coffee. Coffee is grown on the slopes of the Andes at elevations ranging from 1,200 to 2,200 meters above sea level.
The combination of high altitude, volcanic soils, and significant day-to-night temperature variation allows coffee cherries to ripen slowly. This extended maturation develops greater natural sweetness and aromatic complexity, resulting in a cup known for its clarity, balance, and signature sweetness.
What Does "Excelso" Mean?
Excelso is Colombia's traditional green coffee grading standard, referring to bean size and quality.
Excelso coffees are carefully sorted for consistency and uniformity, helping ensure a reliable flavor profile from one harvest to the next.
In the Cup
A classic expression of Colombian Arabica.
The cup opens with notes of milk chocolate and caramel, followed by roasted hazelnut and ripe fruit. Delicate citrus acidity adds freshness without overpowering the sweetness, leading to a smooth, balanced finish with lingering caramel and nutty notes.
