Brazil's Legendary Coffee Region
Brazil has been the world's largest coffee producer for decades, accounting for nearly one-third of global coffee production. Brazilian Arabica is celebrated worldwide for its smooth, sweet, and well-balanced cup.
The country's main Arabica-growing regions include Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Bahia, Matas de Minas, and Paraná, where renowned varieties such as Bourbon, Typica, Mundo Novo, Catuaí, and Maragogype thrive. Together, they create the remarkable diversity of flavors for which Brazilian coffee is famous.
Alta Mogiana – A Land of Exceptional Coffee
This coffee comes from Alta Mogiana, one of the most respected coffee-growing areas in the state of São Paulo. The region takes its name from the Mogiana Railroad Company, which built a railway in 1883 to transport coffee from the interior of Brazil. The railway played a pivotal role in the region's development, helping establish Mogiana as one of the country's premier coffee-producing areas.
Today, the Mogiana region is divided into two subregions: Alta Mogiana and Media Mogiana. Its diverse landscape, varying elevations, and distinct microclimates give each area its own unique cup profile, meaning that even neighboring farms can produce coffees with noticeably different flavor characteristics.
Growing at elevations of 900–1,300 meters above sea level, the coffee cherries ripen slowly under ideal climatic conditions, allowing them to develop greater natural sweetness and complexity. The result is a coffee with a full body, gentle acidity, and a beautifully balanced cup.
Expect inviting notes of hazelnut, cane sugar, and dried fruit, complemented by a lingering sweetness and a smooth, satisfying finish.
